Upgrading the firmware via the GUI

This topic describes how to upgrade the FortiDB firmware. When installing firmware, FortiDB will keep existing data and configuration.

  1. Download the firmware image file to your management computer. For FortiDB appliances with a valid technical support contract, firmware images can be downloaded from the Fortinet Technical Support web site, https://support.fortinet.com.
  2. Log in to FortiDB as "admin".
  3. Go to System > System Information.
  4. In the Firmware Version field, click the Update link.
  5. Type the path and file name of the firmware image file, or click the Browse button and locate the firmware image file.
  6. Click the OK.
  7. Click the Update. Your browser uploads the firmware image file to FortiDB, which upgrades to the new firmware version, then restarts. This process takes a few minutes.
Note: FortiDB will keep existing data and configuration. If you want to reset all device settings and configuration, and delete log data on the hard drive, you can use the CLI command execute format disk. For details, see Command Line Interface section.
