Creating service objects
You create service objects to specify the service to be matched in policies.
The following policies use the “Firewall” service objects:
• Firewall policies
• QoS policies
• Connection limit policies
The following policies use the “Link Load Balancing” service objects:
• Link load balancing policies
Basic Steps
1. Create service objects.
2. Select them when you configure your policies.
Before you begin:
• You must have Read-Write permission for System settings.
To create a service object:
1. Go to System > Shared Resource > Service.
2. Click [Firewall Service | Link Load Balance Service].
3. Click Add to display the configuration editor.
4. Complete the configuration as described in
Table 73.
5. Save the configuration.

Settings | Guidelines |
Name | Configuration name. Valid characters are A-Z, a-z, 0-9, _, and -. No spaces. After you initially save the configuration, you cannot edit the name. |
Protocol | Number in the IPv4 Protocol/IPv6 Next Header field that identifies the protocol, such as 1 (ICMP), 6 (TCP) or 17 (UDP). |
Source Port Range | Originating port number/range. For some protocols, this is a single, predictable number, such as 162 (SNMP). For others, it is dynamically chosen from available ports in the 1024-65535 range. Valid range: 0 - 65535. |
Destination Port Range | Listening port number/range. For example, web servers usually listen on TCP port 80 (HTTP). Valid range: 0 - 65535. |
