Configuring routing by most efficient route or static route
The link load balancing proximity routing feature allows you to maximize WAN efficiency by routing outbound traffic according to link proximity.
The feature uses the following two methods to determine link proximity:
Dynamic Detect — FortiADC determines which the ISP link is the most efficient route to the destination using latency, time-to-live (TTL), and traffic load.
Static Table — You specify the gateway that is the most efficient route to the destination in a routing table.
You can create a proximity routing configuration that uses dynamic detection only, static table only, or a configuration that applies the static table first and then applies dynamic detection for unmatched destinations.
To create the proximity routing configuration, go to Link Load Balance > Resources > Proximity Route.
