The command line interface (CLI) is an alternative to the web-based manager.

Both can be used to configure the FortiVoice unit. However, to perform the configuration, in the web-based manager, you would use buttons, icons, and forms, while, in the CLI, you would either type lines of text that are commands, or upload batches of commands from a text file, like a configuration script.
