Working with Device Groups

This section provides the procedures to set up Device Groups.

Adding Device Groups

Follow the procedure below to add device groups:

  1. Go to CMDB and click Devices folder on the left panel.
  2. Click + above the list of CMDB groups list.
  3. In the Create New device Group dialog box, enter/select the information below:

    SettingsGuidelines
    OrganizationSelect the Organization.
    Group[Required] Group name.
    DescriptionDescription about the device group.
    FoldersFolder under Devices where the group has to be created.
    ItemsItems to add under the device group.
    SelectionsClick > to confirm the selections from Folders and Items.
  4. Click Save.
    The new device group appears on the left panel.
  5. You can also perform various operations by selecting the device/device groups and clicking the Actions button.

    SettingsFunction description
    Change StatusChange status of the device to Approved or Unmanaged.
    Edit LocationChange the device location address.
    Change OrganizationChange the Organization from the drop-down.
    Impacted OrganizationSelect the Impacted Orgs from the drop-down.
    Quick InfoDisplays the quick information about the device.
    Device HealthAvailability, Performance, and Security health reports for the device.
    Incidents SummaryDisplays the summary of incidents associated with the device.
    DecommissionDecommission the selected device.
    RecommissionRecommission the selected device.
    Connect ToConnect to a specific Protocol or Port.
    Re-discoverSpecify the Range Definition information to rediscover the device.
    Real-time Performance MetricsDisplays the real-time Performance Metrics of the selected device.
    Add to WatchlistAdd the device to Watchlist.
    Show Real Time EventOpens a Real Time Search for the selected device.
    Show Historical EventDisplays the historical events under ANALYTICS tab. Use Actions tab on top-left corner to email, export, copy to a new tab or save results.
    Impacted Business ServicesDisplays the Business services that contain the selected device.
    All Event GroupDisplays all event groups under ANALYTICS tab. Use Actions tab on top-left corner to email, export, copy to a new tab or save results.

Modifying Device Groups

Follow the procedure below to modify a Device Group:

  1. Click Devices from the left panel and navigate to the device group.
  2. Select the required change from the table below:

    SettingsGuidelines
    EditTo modify any Device Group.
    DeleteTo delete any Device Group.
  3. Click Save.
