Configuring Performance Monitor

This section provides the procedure to configure Performance Monitor.

Adding a performance object

Follow the procedure below to add a performance object:

  1. Log in to your Supervisor node as a Super/Global user.
  2. Go to ADMIN > Device Support > Monitoring tab.
  3. In the Enter Performance Object section, click New
  4. In the Performance Object dialog box, enter the information below.

    SettingsGuidelines
    Name*Name of the performance object.
    Type*Select System or Application type.
    Method*Select the method form the list.
    Event Type*Select the event type from the list.
    Polling FrequencyFrequency of polling.
    DescriptionDescription of the performance object.
    Note: Settings marked with * are mandatory.
  5. Click Save.
    The new performance object appears in the list
  6. Select the performance object from the list and click Apply.

Modifying a performance object

Follow the procedure below to modify performance object settings:

  1. Go to ADMIN > Device Support > Monitoring tab.
  2. Select one or more Parsers to edit from the list.
  3. Select the required action from the following table.



    OptionDescription
    EditAllows to modify the settings of a performance object.
    DeleteDeletes the selected performance object.
    CloneDuplicates the selected performance object.
    TestSelect the performance object and click Test to view the results.
  4. Click Save.

Associating device type to performance object

Follow the procedure below to add a associate a device type to performance object:

  1. Go to ADMIN > Device Support > Monitoring tab.
  2. In the Enter Device Type To Performance Object Association section, click New
  3. Select one or more performance object(s) to edit from the list.
  4. Select the required action from the following table.



    OptionDescription
    Name Name of the device to associate to performance object.
    Device TypesSelect the device type from the list.
    Perf ObjectsSelect the performance object from the list.
  5. Click Save.
    You can use the Edit/Delete tabs to modify an association and Clone tab to create a duplicate of an association.
