Creating New Dashboards

This section provides the procedures to setup a new dashboard.

Creating a Dashboard Group

  1. Go to DASHBOARD.
  2. Click the dashboard type drop-down on the left.
  3. Click NEW from the bottom of the list.
  4. Enter a name for the new dashboard group.
  5. Click Save.
    The new dashboard group will be added to the drop-down.

Creating a Dashboard

  1. Go to DASHBOARD.
  2. Select the dashboard type from the drop-down.
  3. Click the icon to the right of the dashboard drop-down.
  4. Enter the following information
    • Name: name of the dashboard.
    • Type: type of dashboard based on your environment.
      • Widget Dashboard
      • Summary Dashboard
      • Business Service Dashboard
      • Identity and Location Dashboard
    • Description: description related to the new dashboard.
  5. Click Save.

Adding reports to a Widget dashboard

  1. Click the icon on the left under the dashboard type drop-down.
  2. Select the report from the Report or CMDB Report folder and click > to display the dashboard widget.

Adding devices to a Summary dashboard

  1. Click on the icon on the top menu bar.
  2. Select the device(s) and move them to the right pane by clicking the > button. Use the up and down arrows to rearrange the order of devices.
  3. Click OK.

Note: The following rules apply for sharing dashboards:

  • User created dashboard folders and its contents are only visible to the user who created it. If this folder need to be visible to other users, we recommend:
    • using a shared account.
    • using export/import mechanism to create the folder for that user.
  • System dashboard folders are owned by FortiSIEM. Any changes to those dashboards may be lost during upgrade, if FortiSIEM also decides to change those dashboards.
