User and Device Authentication
Captive guest portal
In this video, you're going to learn how to set up a captive guest portal for wifi users.
A captive portal brings security (or access control) to an otherwise open wireless network. To allow visitors to access your wireless network and internet, you can create time-limited guest accounts. Then users must interact with the captive portal to authenticate before the can access the Internet. A limited administrator account can be granted to a staff member (such as a receptionist), so they can distribute temporary accounts to guests.
BYOD scheduling
In this video, you're going to learn how to configure a scheduling policy to limit BYOD users and their devices' access to the internet.
Portable wireless devices are common in the workplace, and can be excellent resources for networking and productivity, but they can also be a distraction, and a security risk. Setting a device identity policy and a firewall schedule on your FortiGate can limit these devices' internet access during designated hours, so they don't disrupt users' work.
