You can configure static routes by defining the destination IP address and netmask of packets that you intend to intercept, and by specifying a (gateway) IP address for those packets. The gateway address specifies the next-hop router to which traffic will be routed.
Go to System > Router to configure Static Route.
Destination IP/Netmask | The destination IP address and netmask for packets that FortiDB sends to. |
Gateway | The IP address of the router where FortiDB forwards packets. |
Interface | The names of the FortiDB interfaces through which intercepted packets are received and sent. |
Modify | Select to change
the route configuration settings or delete them.
|
Click the Add button to create a new route setting.
To change route setting, click the Edit icon in Modify column, in the row corresponding to the route you want to change.
Click the Delete icon in Modify column to delete the corresponding route.
When add/change the route setting, configure it with following options:
Destination IP/Netmask | Enter the destination IP address and netmask for the routing. Enter the IP/netmask "0.0.0.0/0.0.0.0" for any/all destinations. |
Gateway | Enter the gateway(router) IP address. |
Interface | Select the FortiDB interface through which packets will be received and sent. |
To forward the packet beyond the FortiDB unit to the default gateway, through specified interface, you need add a default static route entry.
For example, to allow FortiDB to access Internet in your private subnet.
Add a static route entry, associated with a destination address of 0.0.0.0/0.0.0.0, and specify the gateway address to forward the packet to.
