Key concepts : Virtual domains (VDOMs) : Defining virtual domains

Defining virtual domains
Use the admin administrator account to add, delete, enable, and disable virtual domains.
By default, FortiADC has a predefined virtual domain named root that you cannot delete or modify.
After you create a virtual domain, you assign network interfaces to it. By default, all network interfaces are assigned to the root virtual domain. Only admin can assign network interfaces to virtual domains.
To create a virtual domain
1. Log in to the web UI of the FortiADC appliance as the admin administrator.
2. Go to Global > VDOM > VDOM.
3. Click Add, enter a unique name for the virtual domain, and then click Save.
The admin administrator uses the Virtual Domains menu to access and modify the configuration of a virtual domain. All other administrators must be assigned to the virtual domain to access it.
