Load balancing : Load balancing among links : Link load balancing for inbound traffic

Link load balancing for inbound traffic
Similar to global server load balancing, link load balancing for inbound traffic uses DNS-based load balancing: it assumes that the client will make a DNS query to resolve the IP of the server, and uses that query to direct the client to the most appropriate destination. However, unlike global server load balancing, it is designed to reply based upon the weighting or availability of the link through which each virtual server can be reached, not the location or availability of the virtual server itself.
To configure link load balancing for inbound traffic, first go to Link Load Balance > Inbound > Host IP Pool and define each of the virtual servers and the link through which they are reachable.
Then go to Link Load Balance > Inbound > Domain and define the domain name. Responses that FortiADC makes to queries for this domain name will vary based upon the availability and weighting of the virtual servers and links that you defined in the previous step.
